My first time drawing a female character. My instructor said my alignment is getting better and better.

I did this one during class. I thought its turn out pretty good.

This one…the head was a little skewed to the right. But the proportion and alignment was pretty ok.

Well, I am quite happy on my improvement…

I went to the library down at Causeway Bay to read some magazine. I am too cheap to subscribe any magazine….

As I was leaving, rain arrived….

I was on the overhead bridge trying to think of a better way to head to Kowloon City. Since I can’t go anywhere and still thinking…why not…take some shots.

Kwan Kim came to town…was passing through from Frisco on his way to Tokyo. Ed invited me to tag along.

Everyone on this pix and above are successful in their own right except me. A bum in my own right….hehehe. me…feel so small. I met Bill So for the first time. I was told he is one of the top Apple developer in Hong Kong. Wow…

The gadget of the day. Kindle2 from Amazon. My first time seeing this product. Quite interesting. I would not mind have one of these because I have tons of .pdf ebook. It cost like $300 USD. Quite out of my budget. $100 USD…I would buy.

Overall, a good gathering. We get to know some happening in the Silicon Valley from Kwan. As for me, its good to be in the same table with everyone. Chatting. Feel the positive vibes. Most of the time we sees each on social gathering with ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’ thing.

And…need to thanks Ed for the yum-cha. He paid the bill. Thank you…Boss.

Wordcamp 09 came to Hong Kong and the venue was at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park(HKSP).

Kudos to the organizers but I need to let out some grunts about the direction. On sunday, the KMB bus 272 coming out of Diamond Hill does NOT have serviced on Sunday. The best way to HKSP is taking the minibus #27 via KCR Shatin.

The wordcamp logo…

Matt Mullenweg, entrepreneur, blogger, founder of Automattic and foundering developer of WordPress.

The audience was not packed. Partly, I think …because chinese blogger either use yahoo blog, sina blog, blogger.com or xanga. Wordpress is not the first choice.

It’s good for Matt to come over this Hong Kong to check out the blogging scene. Hopefully he will come over again to promote the use of Wordpress.

One of the question was whether micro-blogging (ex. Twitter) would take over over blog. For me, I think they complement each other. Blogging is for someone to express one’s view and twiterring is more for the ‘NOW’ moment.

I don’t twit but I have two twitter account which I open since 2005 or 2006. Maybe later…I would start to twit again.

Some of the stuff that I never knew. Using wordpress as CMS. Presently, I used Xoops as cms but I will give wordpress a try for CMS.

The egg. This is where we had the seminar. The place is very similar to cyberport and cyberjaya (malaysia). The style of the building are very similar.

I like HKSP better because the sea is just about 100 feet away. If you can’t think or under intense pressure. Just go out there and take a breather…suck some sea breeze…damn refreshing…man.

The cafe…need to come here for …maybe have buffet.

Overall, it’s an interesting talked. Having Matt Mullenweg come over to Hong Kong was awesome. What are the chances of meeting a founding member of any software company who is based in U.S. and took a picture with a nobody like me.

I want to express my thanks to the organizers (i don’t know who they are).

After being hacked by hack425, I finally upgraded my version to 2.7. I have been too lazy to do the upgrade.

The irony is…I just attended Wordcamp 2009. Matt Mullenweg said…he has NOT heard of wordpress being hacked but it’s always better to upgrade to the latest version.

I am still trying to familiarize with the new version. The layout was all different. Two of my plugin – Popularity Post (Alex King) and Exec PHP does not work. I don’t know why…

What I like? I like the ‘upgrade’ function on the plugins. One click and the plugin will do the automatic thing…

Some guy name hack425 came in and defaced my page. Well…it’s an honor. I did not know my blog is that popular to be hacked…

We went to check out the Super Band Concert over the weekend and we had a great time. We are getting old…listening to old songs brought back memories…

It was held at the Hong Kong coliseum. My first time after they have done some renovation. The seats are better and the restroom are nicer.

Check out the stage…four large screen displaying each singer. Next time, we need to get seats a little closer…

Un-plug…we liked…

Overall..we enjoyed the concert. Can’t described much in word..Have to be there…man..
