We went out to take some photos during this 15th of the Lunar New Year (Yuan Xiao).

We went to the Hong Kong Piazza for these Lantern Light. Quite a lot people out at the Piazza.

This year, I really went out to take quite a bit of pixs for the chinese new year except the chinese new year fireworks.

I have not been successful on taking fireworks photos. But will practice more.

We dropped-by Che Kung Temple to take some photos. Chinese New Year, a lot of people goes to Che Kung Temple to pray for good luck and fortunes.

I was there just to enjoy the scene and smell the burning of joss sticks.

Quite crowded.

This is what everyone comes for. Turning of the fan. Supposedly, if u turn the fan, it will get rid of all your bad luck and bring forth good luck.

The weather dip down to 8 celcius last night.

Its always good to have a hotpot during cold winter. This one is Drunken Chicken Hotpot. It’s chicken marinade with wine (don’t know what kind of wine) and chinese herbs.
On the side, we can add fish ball, vegetable, beef and tofu. Yummy…

I continue to hang around Tsim Sha Tsui waiting for the night parade. Quite a long wait.

A lot of people was there since 6pm. The parade start at 8pm. By the time the parade reached where I was, it was 9pm.

God of Fortune. Have to put this photo up even though it’s a little blur.

First day of Chinese New Year, we went to bum around Harbour City and surrounding.

At the pier of Tsim Sha Tsui.

After the pier, we drop-by Heritage 1881, again. I know, somehow I like to take photo at this place.

Slight drizzling…

Then we head to a new mall called K11 at Hanoi St, Tsim Sha Tsui.

This year Chinese New Year and Valentine falls on the same day.

We went out to Fa Yuen St, Mongkok to pick up some dried finger food stuff for the Chinese New Year.

Does not look good or feel like CNY if you don’t have all these in you home.

Me (left) and Mr. Roland Soong(Right).
First, let me thanks Mr. Roland Soong (the executor of the literary estate of Eileen Chang) for his hospitality and willingness to letting me and my friends into his home to check out Eileen Chang life works.

Hand written manuscript and the book that was published.

Manuscript and the movie that was produced.

A rare color photo of Eileen Chang.

Check this out. The manuscript – well preserved and organized by Mr. Soong.

Eilleen Chang – english novel. Unpublished for now.

Another unpublished english novel.

Another one.

This is really a collection – stationery from the S.S. President Cleveland.

Even envelope was well preserved.

Well, my friends were aesthetic checking out Eileen Chang works. I am more aesthetic meeting Mr. Roland Soong – the blogger for ZoneEuropa. The information on his blog provided me and probably other english readers about Chinese sentiments, thoughts and cultural differences.

Last weekend, we decided to head back Outback Steakhouse to give them another try.
The last time was disastrous. This time we check openrice.com on some of the suggested item to order.

The cheese fries was highly recommended from some folks at openrice.com forum. It was pretty good.

I ordered the safest path..NY Steak. No much could be wrong.

My wife ordered the Sirloin Steak.

This round the food was ok. No much complain.
