On a weekend at Tianhe, Guangzhou

Went up to Tianhe district, Guangzhou for the weekends. This time I took a non-stop train from Hung Hom station to East Guangzhou Station. The price is $190Hkd one way. You can check out the fare and time schedule here.

Condoms…Wow…NO need to pick it up at 7-11. I like this hotel. This is what I called…taking care of clients needs. Heehheee….

Some slides on the hotel - Yu Tong Hotel. Well, the price $300.00 Rmb. This kind of price u will never be able to get it for a 3 Star Hotel in KL. The room is spacious, free internet and plus a breakfast…What more do u want???

Traffic Jam - Have not seen it for a long time.

Coming in all the way to Guangzhou to have Starbucks…I know…I have a problem.

Went to the Book City. This place is packed and you have to wait in a long line to pay. I don’t see this in HK. Probably during the yearly Book Fair. This Book City is open all year long.

On a weekend at Interlaken Octeast Resort

We had the opportunity to spend the weekend at the Interlaken OCTEast Resort up in Shenzhen. The journey is about 45 minutes from Lo Wu, Shenzhen to Da Mei Sha and 1/2 an hours up to the top of the mountain. Going up the mountain top is like going to Genting Highlands.

This resort has the feels of Disneyland, Genting Highlands, Mines and Sunway Lagoon. This place is quite spectacular. You check their website. Have tonnes of stuff. We only managed to visit the theme park.

The parade…similar to Disneyland…but with chinese flavor…

We took a train that give us a glimpse of the entire resort. Very long…some 5km…on a hot summer day…

The staff dorm. I hate to say…but their architecture has some many malaysian feel…could this be malaysian own resort…someone…correct me if I am wrong.

Check out the room via the slide. Very spacious and comes with LCD Tv with cable (It has Hbo, Cinemax, Cnn, BBC and some others). Brand Name Toiletries. King Size Bed. This is just the standard room.

I never thought anyone in China would spend some much money to built this kind of resort. For me, I enjoyed the weekend. After the train ride, we just went back to the hotel and sit on the sofa, enjoy my coffee and the Tv. They hv free internet access in the room but I did not bring my notebook. I am not an ~~internet~~ addict…heheehee.

On friend coming to HK

On welcoming Malaysia New CG

This is an event organized MAHK to welcome the new Malaysia Consul General. For me, it’s my first time attending events organized by MAHK.

I was a little under dress. Everybody was in Suits and Tie. I was in jeans and tee.

The new Consul General…he is a chinese malaysian. I am quite surprised myself. Usually this posting is reserved for Malay.

This event was held at the World Trade Center.

On travelling restriction to Shenzhen via Hong Kong

I just got words from the Malaysia Association in regard to malaysian going into China via the Hong Kong route.

“The following information applies to your friends from Malaysia, family members who plan to visit HK and wants to hop over to Shenzhen for a day visit etc.

As of 01st April 2008, China visas were no longer being issued at border crossing points for travel to Shenzhen or any other airports in China.

Next, the recent ruling affect nationals of 33 countries which includes malaysia. Malaysian traveler would no longer be able to obtain visa at the visa office at the China Resources Building, Wanchai, HKSAR, unless they are residents i.e. possess of HKID.

Therefore, please suggest to your friends and family members to apply for their visa in advance in Malaysia prior to arriving HKSAR should they wish to hop over to China for a short visit.. ” from Judi Chew - Chairperson of MAHK.

In other words, all China visas will be issued at the point of origin country of the traveler. I don’t know how long this ruling will be in place but just be aware about this ruling. This is sort of my public advisory to malaysian.

On bumming around Shenzhen

Couples of my friends flew into Shenzhen from K.L. They were checking on some I.T. hardware to buy and I was there to tag along. Also, we are discussing whether we can collaborate on some e-commerce ventures.

This picture was somewhere in 华强路, Huaqiang Road. This is the place where all the I.T. hardware, Electronic and Mobile phone accessories are located. It’s an eye opening place for me. I will go up there again when my buddy comes over again. Need to explore this place further.

On eating at Outback

We were bumming at East TST and my wife wanted to have steaks for dinners. We decided Outback restaurant is the ideal in that area (on Mody Road).

My order - Flame Grill Prime Ribs

My wife order - Original Season Prime Ribs.

What you see on the picture looked so damn delicious but this is the worst Australian prime ribs that I ever had. The beef was so hard to chew on. After quarter way, both of gave up trying. My jaws was getting numbed.

I told the waitress to give us the check because the beef was too rough to chew on. The manager wanted to give us another one but I said….we gave up. He gave us a 15% discount. I can’t help it. I still have to talk bad about this restaurant. Sorry…

I wonder how the ang moh take this kind of prime ribs. Maybe they have a stronger jaw then I am.

On being estatically happy

For the last two months, I have been in and out of hospital having my blood being taken so many times. The last one was because there was a slight rise in my blood sugar. I was told by the doctor to prepare myself being a diabetic. They did another round test by taking my blood in the morning. Then they give me some sweet stuff to drink. Next, I have to wait for another two hours before another round of drawing blood.

Today, finally….I got all the result test back. I am diabetic FREE…
Damn…happy…man…For a moment, I thought I need to change my entire diet behavior.

After this round of test, I will change some of my diet behavior…less fat, more vege, less Coke and do some jogging.

Anyway…I am a happy dude…I am blessed…and thks the dude above…

On being invited to a charity run

I was invited to the annual charity run organized by the JESSICA magazine at the West Kowloon Promenade. I did not run…I walked…too fat…

The participation is not that great. My guesstimate is about 150 participants. I hv never been to the West Kowloon side and this was a great opportunity to take some pictures.

On picking up a charity organization

We hv picked Medecins Sans Frontieres to be one of the charity organization that we will donate quarterly.

Why this one? It’s an organization my wife like and she heard some touching story on how these doctors reached their patients in some remote amazon jungles.

Why now? Because when I was in K.L, I have always said, ‘IF’ I hv these or that and I will donate to so and so. After arriving in HK, I asked myself why wait for ‘IF’? I can do it now. Therefore, I acted. It’s not much money from me, but the important thing is I acted. Damn proud of myself….
