On an interesting banner sign

I was bumming at Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong and came across this banner advertisement.

P1030650

What does ‘Removal’ mean. A sale is a sale. But removal…I don’t know.

If you guys knows what it mean, please enlighten me. I have an inquiring mind.

It usually means that the shop is moving to a new location and they have a sale to get rid of as much stock as possible (so they have less to move). Quite often they will change it to “Last Few Days” and then “Final Day!” (with even better reduction in price). However, I have seen some companies do this and then not move – just an excuse to get people to buy stuff if they think the shop they like is moving away and they won’t be able to shop there anymore. :-)
