On moving from palm to ppc

From palm M505 to Sj33 Clie..to another 2 clie pda to my last clie Tj-37 pda and now to Dopod 818pro. I have been quite a die-hard palm fan and in the end, I have to move over to PPC.

After tinkering with my ppc pda phone, I realized ppc does have its strong points. For me, the most important was the inter-changeable battery. During my clie time, my pda will never last more than 12 hours (maybe my battery or the pda had problem). It very tough when you are on the move and your pda battery is getting low. I need to find a place to charge or I do not use it. In addition, the longer you used the pda, the lithium battery on palm (or on any other pda or phone) will deteriorate. Palm people never ever did understand this problem.

However, this 818pro PDA battery last about 2 1/2 days and I can change my battery. Wow…..Next, off course is Skype. In palm, I have to use mundu to integrate msn and yahoo messenger but not skype.

What I don’t like about ppc? I do not like ppc is syncing with ms outlook. MS Outlook is not strong contact management software. The back-up system. I do not know how to back-up yet, whereas palm is done automatically via the palm desktop software.

Overall, for now, ppc does have more pros than cons. I can duplicate 90% of my application from palm to ppc. The only thing that I am looking for is mahjong game. I used to have PK Mahjong on my palm that I usually played when I am sitting in my toilet bowl….
