My bro-in-law invited me to go watch a small stage play at Hong Kong Arts Centre Mcaulay Studio. It’s my time in over 10 years to watch any play ever. During my Los Angeles time, I hv seen Ms. Saigon, Phantom and couple other I forgot the names.
But this one is quite different. It’s being done in a small stage with probably 150 people seating capacity. I called this play as R rated with hard/strong language (a lot of f&**&* language in cantonese).
For me, I felt a little uncomfortable with the small stage. When the actors/actress came close within 2 feet in front me, I don’t know how to react. Should look at his/her facial expression, chest/boob or what…?? This is one situation I felt a little weird.
Next, I found it a little surprise that its was a full house. I always thought Taiwan have a better stage play scene than Hong Kong. I have never attended any in KL. Don’t ask me why?
A lesson that I learned from this, these guys and gals on stage were able to filter out all the audience reaction and concentrate on the job. Something I need to do when I am trading the market.
Overall, it’s a good experience, the script is quite good and hopefully as time goes-by I will continue to attend some of this small stage plays to give my support.
